Dear Condit Presbyterian Church,

The sun is shining today. There are signs of spring as I hear some birds and see little green shoots pushing their way up from the dirt. My spirit is lifting, too! Session and Trustees met last evening on Zoom and after prayer and a devotion about “new wineskins” (Matthew 9:14-17) made some important decisions. In April we will resume onsite activities at the church!

On Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 we will have an onsite worship service with communion at 10am at the parking lot. You will need to bring your chair, wear a mask, and be prepared to practice healthy distancing. Our new Easter flower cross will be displayed. There will be an Easter Egg Hunt following the service for the children. The service will be recorded and available on YouTube and FaceBook. The other Holy Week activities are a Maundy Thursday Zoom Communion Service on April 1 at 7pm, and Flowering the Cross on Saturday, April 3 from 1-4pm.

Onsite Worship Services will resume on April 18, 2021 at 10am. The services will be simulcast on YouTube. We will continue our protocol from last fall when we were meeting indoors: wear masks, practice social distancing, offering plates at the doors, prepackaged communion elements, no hymnals, no congregational singing, and social gathering after the service outside.

Other activities and groups may resume onsite after April 18. At this time, and until further notice, we will not serve food at the church. Children’s Sunday School and Youth Group will resume when we have enough teachers lined up. If you are interested, please contact Sue Milem. Euchre Game Night will resume on April 24 at 7pm. Spring Clean-Up Day will be May 1. Auto Show will be August 14, with the Ice Cream Social to be determined. We will host the Harlem Bike Ride comfort station on July 9.

Friends, it’s been a long year. Much has been lost, but we’ve learned a lot and even gained in some areas. God has been with us and sustained us. In the words of St. Patrick,

Christ beside me,

Christ before me,

Christ behind me,

Christ within me,

Christ beneath me,

Christ above me.

God bless you and I look forward to seeing you soon!

Grace and Peace,

Rev. Annie Melick
